Study Abroad Scholarships for Summer

Students often set their sights on summer for the time to study abroad. Many colleges after partnership programs that will allow students to work overseas at an International school and receive college credits. The costs can be great for these programs, over $5,000 in some cases, but they can also be valuable experiences that will help you to further understand your field of study and make connections to other students. However, if the cost is a major problem, then you should consider finding aid to help getting you on your way. There are some different ways to finding scholarships and getting the aid that you need. These are just a few of the study abroad scholarships that we found, but there are certainly more you can look up through our search or by looking online.

AIFS Study Abroad Scholarship and Grants

This scholarship and grant program offers more than $600,000 in awards for students who deserve it. The funds are available for summer as well as regular semesters. There are 50 scholarships of $500 for students who want to study abroad over the summer and demonstrate high academic achievement. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

This program was designed to give awards to undergraduate study abroad students through the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. The scholarship gives undergraduates who receive the Federal Pell Grant at a two-year or four-year college the opportunity to study internationally. Any U.S. citizen who is planning to study abroad should apply. You need to apply by October every year to be eligible to receive the award by summer. Read more about it here.

Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarships

This program promotes international friendships through different parts of the world. The scholarships will sponsor both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as qualified professionals who are pursuing vocational studies. As students study abroad, recipients will be goodwill ambassadors to the country where they study and give presentations about their own culture to rotary clubs and other groups. Diversity Abroad Scholarships and Grants

Through DiversityAbroad.com, you can find several scholarships because Diversity Abroad is partnered with several organizations to offer study abroad scholarships and grants. There are a list of scholarships through DiversityAbroad.com. First, there is the DiversityAbroad.com Study Abroad Scholarship which offers $500 with the AIFS Foundation. There is also the Turkish Coalition of America Scholarship for Minority Students, which gives grants per year from $2,000, $1,000 or $500 for undergraduate and graduate students.
