Federal College Grants

Federal college grants are sums of money provided by the federal government to help pay for tuition and other college-related expenses. Federal Pell Grant

A Federal Pell Grant is typically awarded to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or a professional degree. The amount awarded in a Federal Pell Grant depends on financial need, the costs to attend school, the student's status as a full-time or part-time student, and whether the student plans to attend school for a full academic year or less.

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education Grant (TEACH Grant)

The TEACH Grant provides money to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The FSEOG Grant provides money to undergraduates with exceptional financial need.

The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

The Academic Competitiveness Grant is a small grant that a student may be eligible for as long as the combination of the ACG Grant and Pell Grant do not exceed the student's cost of attendance.

The National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (National SMART Grant)

The National Smart Grant is available during the last two years of undergraduate study to at least half-time students who are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant and who maintain a 3.0 grade point average while majoring in physical sciences, life sciences, computer sciences, mathematics, technology, engineering, a critical foreign language, or a non-major single liberal arts programs.
